Background
Sienna Kresge (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based movement educator and multimedia artist. She originally hails from Boise, Idaho where wide open spaces and a family of dancers inspired an early love for movement expression. She grew up in the intensive world of competitive dance. Naturally, Sienna’s introduction to Pilates and bodywork came at the encouragement of a dance teacher as a supplement to her training. Thus, a seed was planted, and she discovered the power of healing movement.
Sienna holds a double BA in Dance and Philosophy from Chapman University, where she took a particular interest in her anatomy and kinesology classes. After several years performing and teaching dance professionally post-grad, she completed a 600+ hour comprehensive Pilates certification through Erika Bloom Pilates in New York City with mentorship under Erika Bloom and Adrienne Weidert. Continuing education includes dance conditioning with Pilates and GYROTONIC® master trainer Alicia Head (The Inner Life of Ballet), and somatic bodywork practices with Holly Johnston (Responsive Body). Sienna is also a recreational student of Anatomy Trains, GYROTONIC® method, and yoga.
A session with Sienna is always rooted in sound anatomical alignment principles, and can include a combination of: classical and contemporary Pilates, breathwork, hands-on myofascial release, guided intuitive movement, postural and gait analyses, and biomechanical re-patterning. Sienna is also educated in pre- and post-partum training, diastasis recti correction, pelvic floor rehabilitation, dance conditioning, geriatric conditioning, and scoliosis care. With a gentle yet rigorous teaching style, Sienna is passionate about empowering clients to move through the world with athletic confidence and ease.
